It is about 3.5 miles from shopping at Brook Village, where there is a well stocked general store with Monday night square dances. This part of Nova Scotia is heavily wooded with numerous hiking trail as well as streams and rivers all flowing to the Atlantic Ocean. Of course, if you like to hunt and fish this is the place to be.
The land slopes to the east and north mostly, but is pretty much a mountain top. It is wooded with mixed timber. It was logged about 10 years ago so there is a lot of regrowth and lots of deer.
